BC HIGHLIGHTS
- The Boston College women's track and field team headed to Rhode Island on Saturday to compete in the Ocean State Invitational hosted by Brown University and Providence College.
- In the 100m hurdles, juniors Anna Atkinson and Julia Barron qualified for the finals with their times of 15.50 and 15.52, respectively. Atkinson ended the day in sixth place, going 14.95 in the finals, while Barron bettered her time to 15.35, good for eighth overall.
- Sophomore Julia Lyons posted a time of 12.55 in the 100m preliminaries, qualifying her for the finals, in which she finished eighth overall with a time of 12.59.
- The Eagles were strong in the 400m. Sophomore Johanna Celli led the way for BC, taking third place overall with her time of 57.29. Senior Robin Gross took home fifth place in 58.30, while freshman Monica Heil finished seventh with her time of 58.74.
- Celli and Gross were back on the track for the 200m, joined by senior Gabriella Candelieri. Celli earned a sixth place finish with her time of 25.71. Gross crossed the line in 26.20 overall, while Candelieri was 14th in 26.86.
- In the 800m, senior Claudia DiSomma led the way for BC, taking third place overall with her time of 2:09.59. Junior Molly McCabe was not far behind, finishing in fifth place with a time of 1:10.05. Junior Julia Gregory and sophomore Gianna Bender landed seventh and 10th-place overall finishes with their times of 2:15.12 and 2:15.76.
- Barron and freshman Emma Taylor were the top two finishers in the 400m hurdles. Barron took the victory in 1:02.50, and Taylor came through the finish at 1:03.93 for second place.
- Junior Ashbrook Gwinn earned a victory in the 3K posting the top time of 10:04.48. Sophomore Sarah Marvin (10:16.56), senior Amanda Rickert (10:17.48), and sophomore Delia Hayes (10:23.69) were the third, fourth and fifth place finishers in the event, respectively.
- In the field events, senior Fallyn Boich won the javelin with her toss of 42.53m (139-06). Rookie Amanda Sinkewicz finished in third place with a distance of 40.11m (131-07).
- In the discus, Sinkewicz was the ninth place finisher, throwing for a distance of 35.86m (117-08). Boich finished 11th with a throw of 35.21m (115-06).
- Lyons earned a fourth place finish in the long jump, leaping for a distance of 5.27m (17-03.5)
- The Eagles' 4x400m relay squad of Taylor, Atkinson, Celli and Gross turned in a first-place performance for the Eagles, posting a time of 4:04.34.

The Eagles return to action next weekend, participating in the Larry Ellis Invitational hosted by Princeton University.
