BC HIGHLIGHTS
- The Boston College men's track and field team took to Boston University on Saturday to compete in the 2017 David Hemery Valentine Invitational, the last regular season meet for the indoor portion of the 2017 season for the Eagles.
- In the 400m dash, the Eagles again posted impressive performances. Senior Obinna Nwankwo crossed the line in 48.19, good for fifth place among collegiate athletes. Nwankwo was just shy of hitting his school-record mark yet again. Sophomore Robert Brennan finished his debut 400m race in 49.11, qualifying for the IC4A Championships in the proess, while senior Darren James earned a new season best with his time of 49.40.
- Also in the sprints, Nash raced in the 200m dash, posting a time of 22.19, another one of his top performances in that event.
-Other season-bests performances on the day for the Eagles included senior Devaun Bovell in the 60m hurdles (8.38), sophomores Andrew Willis (1:54.71), Matthew Morano (1:55.61) and freshman Andrew Valvano (1:56.03) in the 800m, Brennan (22.60) in the 200m, senior James Zingarini (4:17.95) and sophomore Benjamin Osipow (4:18.54) in the mile, and senior Tyler Hanson (8:34.89) in the 3000m.
- One final season best for the Eagles was reserved for the 4x400m relay, in which the squad of Nash, James, Brennan and Nwankwo teamed up for a time of 3:15.87. Nash came out of the blocks for the Maroon and Gold and posted a 47.9 split, and the Eagles never looked back, and Nwnakwo anchored for the sixth place overall finish.
 
UP NEXT
Qualifiers for the 2017 ACC Championship meet will head out to South Bend, Ind., where Notre Dame will host the Championships from Thursday-Saturday February 23-25.
