
Eagles To Open Up ACC Action at Virginia Tech

Eagles-Hokies tip off at 2 p.m.
 CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College women's basketball team will hit the road for the first ACC game of the 2017-18 season. The Eagles will travel to Blacksburg, Virginia to play Virginia Tech at 2 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.

This will be the first trip to Blacksburg for every player on the BC roster except the senior class - Marti Mosetti, Rachel Gartner and Katie Quandt. Â

Boston College is looking to bounce back from a loss to Maine on Thursday night. Sophomore Emma Guy led BC with her second double-double (12 points, 13 rebounds).

Virginia Tech is currently 11-3 with one of the losses to NC State which took place on Thursday night, 68-51. It was the Hokies ACC season opener.

The Hokies are led by Taylor Emery and Regan Magarity who combine averaged 30.6 points per game and 13.5 rebounds. Chanette Hicks is averaging 12.9 points, 3.6 rebounds and 94 assists in 14 games.

A Look Ahead
• Boston College will finish the month of December on the road at Virginia Tech on Sunday in the Eagles ACC season opener. The Hokies opened up conference play on Thursday against NC State.
- Boston College is now 2-4 in the month.
- The Eagles will return home to host North Carolina on Thursday, Jan. 4 at Conte Forum (7p.m.). The following Sunday the Eagles have off only to return to action on Thursday, Jan. 11 to host Virginia.

BC vs. Virginia Tech
- Boston College and Virginia Tech have played in 25 games.
- The first game took place on Dec. 29, 1989.
- Including last year's loss at Cassell Coliseum, BC is now 12-13 against the Hokies.
- BC is 10-8 since the Eagles joined the ACC.
- The in first meeting between the two teams in the ACC, Virginia Tech defeated BC, 67-62, on Jan. 8, 2006.
- Since Coach Johnson arrived at The Heights in the 2012-13 season, the Eagles are 4-3. Johnson's first ACC victory came at Virginia Tech on Jan. 10, 2013 (53-46).
