BLACKSBURG, Virginia - The Boston College women's basketball team fell, 89-58, despite 17 points from freshman Milan Bolden-Morris and 14 from sophomore Emma Guy on Sunday afternoon.
Boston College is now 5-9 and 0-1 in the ACC. Virginia Tech improved to 12-3 overall and 1-1 in the conference.
The Eagles shot 44.2 percent from the floor but was out-rebounded, 38-24 by Virginia Tech and the Hokies hit 21-for-24 free throws in the game.
The Hokies shot 50 percent from the floor and 87.5 percent from the floor. Virginia Tech also had nine steals and scored 27 points off the Eagles turnovers.

- Sophomore Emma Guy had 14 points and eight boards while freshman Milan Bolden-Morris finished with a game-high 17 points.
- Graduate senior Andie Anastos led BC with six assists while Taylor Ortlepp and Georgia Pineau combined for 16 points and six boards.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- BC shot 45 percent from the floor in the first quarter but Virginia Tech held a 15-12 lead behind 8-for-8 shooting from the foul line.
- The Eagles were outscored 22-15 in the second quarter despite shooting 45.5 percent from the floor. BC had nine turnovers in the half, and Virginia Tech took advantage of the mistakes as the Hokies scored 14 points and held a 37-27 lead at the half.
- Virginia Tech shot 53 percent from the floor and went 6-for-8 from the foul line to take a 62-38 lead after three quarters. BC shot 33.3 percent but had three turnovers which resulted in six points for the Hokies.
- The Eagles mounted a comeback in the fourth and cut the lead to 68-51 behind 5-fof-8 shooting in the first five minutes. Bolden-Morris hit her second three of the game in the run.
- Virginia Tech went on an 21-7 run in the final five minutes to seal the win.
