Ortlepp's 23 Points Boost Eagles over Tar Heels, 77-64

Three Eagles registered career-high points in first ACC victory
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College women's basketball team came out victorious over North Carolina, 77-64, for its first ACC win on the season in Chestnut Hill Friday afternoon.
Boston College improved to 6-9 overall and 1-1 in the ACC. North Carolina is now 10-5 overall and 0-2 in the conference.
Though down coming out of the first quarter, the Eagles found two encouraging runs in the second frame to outscore the Tar Heels by eight points, capturing the lead going into half time. BC found its first double-digit lead after Taylor Ortlepp sank a three and rode it into the fourth. After adding another 22 points in the last frame, the Eagles came out on top.

The Eagles shot 47 percent from the floor and hit 52 percent of trey attempts, while North Carolina only mustered 36 percent of connected field goals.

- Sophomore Taylor Ortlepp produced a new season high, leading the game with 23 points on the afternoon. These 23 points included 5 threes, which ties her current season high set last season against North Carolina. She was 68 percent from the floor.
- Graduate Andie Anastos also broke her previous season high, adding 13 points to the Eagles' win.
- Freshman Milan Bolden-Morris tied her 18-point career high, which included her connecting four threes for the 6th game this season.
- Sophomore Georgia Pineau bolstered BC with 15 points, making her the fourth Eagles to reach double digits.

- Treys from Andie Anastos and Taylor Ortlepp and two jumpers from Georgia Pineau made up the 13 points the Eagles accumulated in the first frame. UNC had 17.
- BC found an 8-0 run in the middle of the second quarter, then a 6-0 to close the quarter, outscoring the Tar Heels 19-11 to take command of the lead for the first time since the start of the game. BC went to the locker room up 32-28.
- Taylor Ortlepp reached 20 points during the third frame, while the Eagles squad had 23 points the third quarter alone, achieving their first double-digit lead. BC shot 71 percent from the three-point arc, making five out of their seven attempts. Maroon and gold also connected 60 percent of field goals.
-Â The Eagles hit 70 percent of field goals, 67 percent of threes and 67 percent of free throws to wrap up their first ACC win on the season.
