CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College women's basketball team fell to ACC rival Virginia, 68-57, in Chestnut Hill on Thursday evening.

Boston College dropped to 6-10 overall and 1-2 in the ACC. Virginia improved to 12-6 and 5-0 in the conference.

BC had the score close at the conclusion of the first quarter as the Eagles only trailed by four. Virginia pulled ahead in the second quarter though behind an 18-3 run. BC pulled to within 10 in the third quarter and again in the fourth behind four three-pointers but were unable to secure the victory, despite outscoring the Cavaliers 36-30 in the second half. Virginia won the battle of the boards, 35-24.

The Eagles shot 41 percent from the floor and hit 67 percent of free throws, while Virginia shot 50 percent from the floor and 75 percent from behind the arc to remain undefeated in ACC play.

BC HIGHLIGHTS
- Freshman Milan Bolden-Morris led the Eagles with 14 points and she also made four treys on the night.
- Sophomore Emma Guy contributed 12 points and grabbed a team-leading eight rebounds.
- Sophomore Taylor Ortlepp chipped in with 10 points.

- BC took an early 4-0 lead off a layup from Guy and a jumper from sophomore Georgia Pineau, but a 9-0 run by Virginia gave the Cavaliers an 11-7 lead. Layups from Lisa Jablonowski and Jocelyn Willoughby put Virginia up 15-11 at the end of the first quarter.
- The Cavaliers pulled ahead with an 18-3 run in the second quarter behind five points from Willoughby and four points from Dominique Toussaint. The Eagles shot 36 percent in the quarter as Virginia increased its lead to 38-21 heading into the locker room.
- The Eagles improved to 57 percent shooting from the floor in the third quarter behind four points and four rebounds from Guy. A three-pointer from graduate Andie Anastos pulled BC within 10 as the Eagles made four of their last five shots from the floor to close out the third, but Virginia held a 54-43 lead.
- BC kept the game close behind three-pointers from senior Martina Mosetti, Ortlepp and two treys from Bolden-Morris. Down by 10 with 3:33 left to play after two free throws from freshman Sydney Lowery, the Eagles were unable to pull closer as Virginia secured a 68-57 victory.

- Boston College will return to action when it travels to South Bend, Ind. on Sunday, Jan. 14 to take on No.2 Notre Dame at 1 p.m.
