Eagles Fall at Columbia, 68-60
NEW YORK, New York – The Boston College women's basketball team fell on the road at Columbia, 68-60, despite 22 points from sophomore forward Georgia Pineau. The Eagles are now 3-4 on the season while the Lions improved to 3-5.

The Eagles shot 44.4 percent from the floor but 44.6 percent (10-for-21) from the charity stripe. Columbia shot 43.3 percent from the floor but out-rebounded BC, 43-30, and hit a seven three-pointers, all at key points in the game.

- Sophomore forward Georgia Pineau shot 8-for-9 from the floor to finish with a season-high 22 points. She also had four boards and three blocks.
- Sophomore Emma Guy chipped in with 11 points and seven rebounds, while rookie Sydney Lowery added eight points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- BC led 14-9 at the end of the first quarter behind eight points from Georgia Pineau. All 14 of the Eagles points were in the paint.
- Columbia opened the second quarter with two consecutive three-pointers to pull ahead of BC, 15-14. After two hoops from Emma Guy and Anastos, Sydney Lowery hit a three-pointer to give BC a 21-15 lead. The Eagles went cold and the Lions shot back on a 5-0 run to take a 22-21 lead with 4:20 to play.
- Georgia Pineau scored five of the Eagles final seven points in the half to give BC a 29-27 lead. She had 12 points while Andie Anastos had six points with three rebounds.
- Columbia opened the second half shooting 42 percent and pushed its lead to, 38-35, on a three-pointer form Maya Sampleton. The Lions went on a 7-0 run which was halted by a half-hook from Katie Quandt at 2:09. Two freebies from Quandt cut the Columbia lead, 42-39, with 1:33 left in the quarter.
- A Sampleton three with 16 seconds left in the quarter gave the Lions a 47-41 lead after three quarters.
- Pineau opened the scoring in the fourth with a traditional three-point play and BC was down, 47-44.  The Lions responded with a 5-2 run behind a three-pointer from Riley Casey. The lead grew to eight points on a jumper by Janiya Clemmons with 4:04 to play in the quarter. Pineau hit a layup with 3:09 to play and the Lions lead was just four points. Riley Casey nailed a three and extended the Lions lead to seven points. The Lions hit five free throws down the stretch to seal the win.
GAME NOTES
- Boston College was 2-for-8 at the foul line in the first half. The Eagles finished the game shooting 9-for-20 from the foul line.
- BC held a 29-27 halftime lead. Of the 29 points, 24 were scored in the paint.
- Columbia won the battle of the boards, 43-30.
