
Eagles' Comeback Falls Short at BU

Despite 17 points in the final four minutes, women's basketball fell 61-57
BOSTON, Mass. – Boston College women's basketball fell to local rival Boston University Sunday afternoon in Case Gymnasium, 61-57, after the Eagles' 17-point comeback in the final four minutes was not enough.

The Eagles drop to 3-3 on the season, while the Terriers record improved to 3-2.

Though they led the first quarter, two three-pointers by BU's Katie Nelson gave BC a one-point advantage heading into the half, 28-27. Utilizing an 18-4 run, the Terriers took a solid lead that the Eagles could not overcome, despite the 21 points they scored in the fourth period.

Freshman Sydney Lowery led the Eagles' efforts with 18 points in the game, shooting 53.8 percent. The Eagles shot perfectly from the foul line, hitting all ten attempts, three of which came from Lowery.

- Lowery tallied team-high seven points in the first quarter, making 2-3 jumpers and going 3-3 from the line, while Katie Quandt found the bucket in to give the Eagles a 13-12 lead going into the second period.
- Andie Anastos and Milan Bolden-Morris added to the Eagles' largest lead of the half, 19-13, but following a timeout, the Terriers made an eight-point comeback.
- Behind two three-pointers from Katie Nelson, BU cut the BC advantage to only one point going into halftime.
- The Terriers held the Eagles to only eight points in the third quarter, taking the lead as Katie Nelson hit another three and ending the third, 41-36.
- In the fourth period, BU took command of the game with an 18-4 run that BC could not contend with – despite registering 17 points in the final four minutes - and won, 61-57.
