Lytle scores her fourth goal of the season
NEWTON, Mass. – The eighth-ranked Boston College field hockey team fell, 4-1, to No. 11 Louisville on Friday night at Newton Campus Field Hockey Complex. The Eagles (8-5, 0-5 ACC) avoided a shutout with a goal on a corner with no time left in the second half.

The Cardinals (9-4, 3-1 ACC) earned their first road win of the season. They netted two goals in the first half and two off penalty strokes in the second. Junior Lucy Lytle tipped in classmate Frederique Haverhals' drive at the end of the game to put a crooked number on the board for the Eagles.
Â
BC's five losses have all been to top-11 conference opponents. The Eagles moved to 2-2 in the all-time series against Louisville. The away team has won every game of the series.

COACH'S QUOTE
Head Coach Kelly Doton
"We are a better team than our 0-5 ACC record shows. It's disappointing. We didn't have the smart, aggressive mentality that we needed tonight. I thought Louisville started the game with a lot of energy and smart decision making and it took us awhile to match their tempo. It seemed like we were a step behind and ACC teams will make you pay for slow starts. Louisville did. We tried to make some adjustments and we had some goal-scoring opportunities, as well as some corners, but we didn't capitalize nearly enough in the attacking end. We had the ball in our attacking third a lot and we weren't rewarded. Give credit to Louisville for the win."
