HOW IT HAPPENED
- Pittsburgh opened the game on a 10-2 run with the help of four turnovers from the Eagles in the first four minutes of play. BC cut the lead to four points after a layup by Georgia Pineau with 2:43 to play. Pitt took a 15-7 lead after one as BC had seven turnovers in the quarter.
- Boston College shot just 13 percent in the first half and turned the ball over 11 times. The Eagles were down, 28-14, at the half.
- The Eagles opened the third quarter on an 8-5 run behind a big traditional three-point play by rookie Emma Guy. BC was down just 10 with 4:41 to play in the quarter. After three quarter, Pitt led, 39-28. The Eagles held Pitt to just two field goals but the Panthers kept the lead by hitting all seven foul shots in the quarter.
- The fourth quarter the Eagles cut the game to nine points on two occasions, the final one on a three by Emilee Daley with 1:08 to play. BC shot just 23 percent from the floor in the loss.
