HOW IT HAPPENED
- Padraic McCullaugh came off the bench for Villanova and scored immediately in the 32nd minute. The Wildcats put together a few quality passes, and Lucas Hodges fed McCullaugh who was alone in front of the keeper. He put it away for the 1-0 lead.
- Boston College went on the attack after halftime, outshooting Villanova 14-3.
- The Eagles notched the equalizer in the 51st minute off a corner. Johnson sent the ball into the box and Schulze-Geisthovel headed it in for the 1-1 tie.
- BC had a couple of more chances to score but Villanova's Will Steiner kept the ball out of the net. Senior Isaac Normesinu and sophomore Simon Enstrom both had great opportunities that Steiner turned away.
- Villanova had a corner kick in the 87th minute that Miguel Polley sent into the box. After the ball bounced around, Anderson got a hold of it and beat the keeper to give the Wildcats the win.
