EAGLES TAKE ON NO. 9 NORTH CAROLINA ON ACC NETWORK EXTRA
• Boston College (5-2-0, 1-1-0 ACC) faces its second ACC road test in a row when it travels to #9 North Carolina (6-1-0, 2-0-0 ACC) Friday night.
• The Eagles beat Albany on Tuesday afternoon, 5-3, after losing at #5 Syracuse last weekend, 2-0.
• North Carolina has opened the season by winning six of its first seven matches. The Tar Heels have beaten Clemson and Pittsburgh in ACC action.
• North Carolina has a 10-3-1 advantage in the all-time series and has won six in a row.
• The match will be televised on ACC Network Extra.
LEWIS, SCHULZE-GEISTHOVEL LEAD BC PAST ALBANY
• Senior Zeiko Lewis matched a career-high with five points as he scored two goals and added an assist in a 5-3 win over Albany on Tuesday.
• Lewis has 25 career assists which ranks second all-time at BC. He is one behind Louis Papadellis who had 26 assists from 1977-80.
• Senior Maximilian Schulze-Geisthovel also scored a pair of goals to up his season total to a team-leading six.
• Sophomore Simon Enstrom recorded a goal and an assist.
• Senior Isaac Normesinu and sophomore Trevor Davock were also credited with assists in the match.
• Albany opened the scoring in the 25th minute when Carlos Clark headed in a Moosah Khanat corner kick.
• The Great Danes scored again in the 42nd minute after an Albany attacker was taken down in the box. Leo Melgar took the penalty kick and connected for the 2-0 lead.
• Boston College responded in the 44th minute when Normesinu was taken down in the box. Schulze-Geisthovel took the penalty kick and connected to make it a 2-1 halftime deficit.
• The Eagles pounced early in the second half and scored the equalizer in the 50th minute. Normesinu and Enstrom used a nifty give-and-go which Enstorm finished to make it 2-2.
• Schulze-Geisthovel gave BC the lead in the 68th minute when he put home a pass from Lewis.
• Lewis scored his first goal of the match – which proved to be the game-winner – in the 75th minute. Davock and Enstrom both fired shots that the Albany keeper saved, then Lewis was finally able to finish it for the 4-2 lead.
• Albany got one back with eight minutes to play when Afonso Pinheiro put home a cross from Nico Solabarrieta.
• Lewis finished the scoring with 16 seconds left after he stole the ball from the Albany back line. He chipped in a shot from 25 yards out to seal the win.

• Verneri Valimaa scored both goals to lead #9 North Carolina to a 2-0 win on October 24, 2014 in Newton.
• Valimaa entered the match with two goals on the season. He scored in the 32nd minute and then again with 43 seconds left in the match. Andy Craven had an assist for the Tar Heels.
• North Carolina owned an 8-3 advantage in shots in the first half but Boston College got the first chance to put a goal on the board five minutes into the match. A misplayed ball by a Tar Heel defender gave Zeiko Lewis a free run at the goal. The UNC keeper came off his line and made a nice save to keep BC out of the net.
• The Tar Heels connected in the 32nd minute to take a 1-0 lead. The ball went into the box and Walker Hume took a shot on net that Alex Kapp saved. The rebound went right to Valimaa who scored to put UNC on top.
• BC only had one shot in the second half and it was not on target. Kapp made seven saves in goal and he made an important one three minutes into the second when Tyler Engel put a nice shot on goal that was stopped.
• Kapp made another great save with 20 minutes left after a BC foul 23 yards out. Alex Olofson, Raby George and Omar Holness surrounded the ball for the free kick. Olofson tapped to George who set up Holness for a blast. The shot got through a sea of players but Kapp dove to his left to keep it a one goal game.
• The Tar Heels sealed the win in the final minute when Craven and Valimaa connected for the second goal.
