Team
- Boston College moved to 2-2 on the season with a 42-10 victory over Wagner at Alumni Stadium. It was the first meeting between the two schools and the first home game in 2016 for the Eagles.
- Boston College is now 25-1 all-time against FCS schools, winning the last 25 games against FCS competition.
- For the first time this season, the Eagles did not turn the ball over and did not cause a turnover.
- The Eagles scored the final 28 points of the game.
Offense
- Boston College set season-highs in total offense (490 yards), points (42) and rushing yards (300).
- Boston College rushed for 300 yards in a game for the first time since rushing for 347 yards last season vs. Howard. The Eagles also totaled 400+ yards of total offense for the first time since the Howard win in 2015 as well.
- For the sixth time in his career, redshirt sophomore RB Jon Hilliman scored two touchdowns in a game.
- He opened the scoring for the Eagles on a one-yard touchdown with 9:43 to play in the first quarter and added a second touchdown on a six-yard rush in the third quarter. He has four touchdowns in 2016 and 19 in his career.
- Graduate QB Patrick Towles was responsible for four touchdowns on the day, recording two rushing touchdowns and two through the air. He tallied a career-long, 17-yard scramble in the first quarter and a one-yard run in the second.
- Towles connected with sophomore WR Jeff Smith on a 58-yard touchdown pass, the longest of Smith's career and longest for Towles in a BC uniform.
- Redshirt freshman RB Davon Jones surpassed all of his previous career highs, finishing the game with 90 yards on 12 attempts and recorded a career-long, 26-yard rush in the second quarter.
- Sophomore WR Michael Walker hauled in his first career touchdown on a 17-yard completion with 1:08 left in the third quarter. Walker finished the game with a career-high four catches for a career-best 72 yards on the day.
- Sophomore RB Richard Wilson recorded a career-high 62 rushing yards on a career-best 11 carries, including a 19-yard run in the fourth quarter.
- Sophomore FB Colton Cardinal recorded his first career receptions, finishing the day with two catches for 28 yards.
- Redshirt sophomore QB Darius Wade made his second appearance of the season, going 3-for-4 with 33 passing yards after coming in to play in the fourth quarter.
Defense
- The BC defense held Wagner to just 45 rushing yards on the day. It is the 17th time in 29 games that the Eagles have not allowed an opponent to tally 100 yards on the ground.
- Wagner rushed for 55 yards on one play as the Seahawks scored first on a 55-yard TD run in the first quarter.
- BC held the Seahawks to six three-and-outs for the game.
- The Eagles recorded five sacks and 11 tackles for loss, both the second-highest totals of the season.
- Junior DE Harold Landry recorded a career-high three sacks, bringing his season total to 4.5 and his career total to nine. He also recorded a career-high five tackles for loss. Â
- Senior DE Kevin Kavelec recorded his first career pass breakup in the second quarter.
Special Teams
- Senior RB Tyler Rouse recorded career-long kickoff and punt returns: a 44-yard kick return in the first quarter and a 53-yard punt return in the third quarter.
- Junior P/K Mike Knoll was a perfect 6-for-6 on extra-point attempts, recording a career-high for PATs.
