BC HIGHLIGHTS
- Senior Jessie Daulton was 1-of-4 at the plate and has now reached base in 15 consecutive games. With 62 hits on the season, she is two hits shy of setting the Boston College single-season record for hits.
- Junior Tatiana Cortez was 2-of-2 with two walks, extending her hit streak to 15 games.
- Sophomore Jordan Chimento (0-2) has now reached base safely in 13 consecutive games.
- Sophomore Annie Murphy went 1-of-2 with a walk, and has now recorded a hit in seven straight games while reaching base in nine consecutive appearances.
- Sophomore Chloe Sharabba went 0-of-2 at the plate with a walk and an RBI, snapping her hit streak at 10 games. However, she has now reached base in 11 straight games.
TURNING POINT
- Pitt knocked in six runs in the first two innings and never looked back.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Panthers opened up the scoring with three runs in the top of the first. A single from Olivie Gray knocked in two. Later, Ashlee Sills scored off a throwing error.
- The Eagles answered with one of their own in the bottom half of the first, as a flyball to center from sophomore Chloe Sharabba plated senior Megan Cooley.
- Pitt knocked in three more in the top of the second, as a double from McKayla Taylor drove in Maggie Sevilla. Jenna Modic followed that up with a two-run home run to center field.
- Boston College pulled one back in the bottom half, as a groundout from freshman Danielle Thomas plated freshman Carly Severini to cut the lead to 6-2.
- Panthers tacked on another in the top of the fifth as a Gray single scored one.
- Pitt got one more in the top of the sixth as Maggie Sevilla sent one over the fence in right center to make it 8-2.
