BC HIGHLIGHTS

Junior Tatiana Cortez went 1-of-3 with a double, extending her hitting streak to 16 games. Her 14 doubles is one shy of the Boston College single-season record.
Sophomore Annie Murphy was 1-of-2. She has now recorded a hit in eight consecutive games and reached base safely in her last 10 appearances.
Sophomore Jordan Chimento (0-2) has now reached base in 14 straight games.

TURNING POINT

North Carolina put six on the board in the top of the sixth and held on for the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Tar Heels struck first in the top of the sixth, knocking six to take the lead. Tracy Chandler got things started, ripping a double to left field that plated one. Lauren Fuller followed that up by launching a ball over the fences in right field to make it 3-0. Destiny DeBerry would late single and bring in another run while a groundout from Taylor Wike brought in another. DeBerry would plate later off a wild pitch to cap the inning's scoring.

The Eagles will await word to see if they qualify for next weekend's NCAA Tournament.
