BC HIGHLIGHTS
- The Eagles have won six straight games and nine of their last 10. That includes eight straight victories over ACC opposition.
- Boston College has scored four or more runs in 10 consecutive games while limiting its opponent to two or fewer runs in all but one of those games.
- Sophomore Annie Murphy went 4-of-6 with two doubles, a home run, three RBIs and three runs scored. She has now recorded a hit in six straight games while reaching base in eight consecutive appearances.
- Junior Tatiana Cortez was 2-of-6 with a double, a home run, two RBIs and a run scored, extending her hit streak to 14 games.
- Sophomore Chloe Sharabba went3-of-5 at the plate with a double and three runs scored. She has now recorded a hit in 10 straight games.
- Senior Jessie Daulton (2-7, 2B, R) has now reached base in 14 consecutive games. With 61 hits on the season, she is three hits shy of setting the Boston College single-season record for hits.
- Sophomore Jordan Chimento (2-5, 2B, 3 RBIs) has now reached base safely in 12 consecutive games.
- Sophomore Jessica Dreswick hurled a complete game in Game 1, conceding two runs on four hits while striking out a career-high eight.
GAME 1
TURNING POINT
- Boston College retook the lead with four runs in the bottom of the sixth and never looked back.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles struck first in the bottom of the second when Chimento doubled to right center, scoring Murphy.
- The Panthers jumped ahead in the top of the sixth courtesy of a two-run home run by Jenna Modic.
- Boston College responded with four runs in the bottom half of the inning. Murphy got things started, blasting a home run over the left field fence with Sharabba on base. Later junior Madison Paulson and junior Jordan Weed would score after freshman Danielle Thomas reached on an error.
GAME 2
TURNING POINT
- Boston College put across five in the bottom of the third and held on for the win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles plated one in the bottom of the second as Sharabba scored off a Chimento groundout.
- The Panthers answered in the very next inning as Kaitlin Manuel singled to right field, scoring Erin Hershman.
- Boston College answered with five of their own in the bottom half of the inning. With two outs and Daulton on third, Cortez lifted one over the fence in left center. Murphy would later lace a double to left field, plating Sharabba from first. Freshman Carly Severini followed that up with a double to center, scoring Murphy. Severini would plate later as Chimento hit a single to center field to cap off the inning's scoring.
- Pittsburgh added one more in the top of the fourth, as a Hershman single plated one to cut the lead to 6-2.
- The Eagles added an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth as Daulton reached on an error, scoring Thomas to extend the lead to 7-2.
- The Panthers got one back in the top of the seventh, as a Maggie Sevilla single scored Kaitlin Manuel.
