GAME 1
BC HIGHLIGHTS
- Junior Tatiana Cortez went 1-of-2 at the plate with a double and a walk.
- Sophomore Jordan Chimento was 1-of-2 with a double, an RBI and a run scored.
TURNING POINT
- North Carolina scored three runs in the sixth inning to take the lead for good.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles got on the board first in the bottom of the fourth as a double from Chimento scored junior Madison Paulson. On the very next play sophomore Annie Murphy singled to drive home Chimento to put BC up 2-0.
- The Tar Heels would answer back in the top of the sixth, as a two-run shot from Kendra Lynch would even things up at two. UNC would take the lead when Erin Satterfield scored from third off an error.
- The Heels added three more in the seventh when Lauren Fuller homered with two on.
GAME 2
BC HIGHLIGHTS
- Junior Tatiana Cortez went 2-of-3 at the plate with a solo home run and two RBIs.
- Senior Megan Cooley was 2-of-4 with an RBI double and a run scored.
TURNING POINT
- The Tar Heels took the lead in the fifth during a wild inning that saw them score two runs on no hits.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- North Carolina got things started as Kristen Brown lifted a ball over the right field fence with a runner on in the top of the third.
- The Eagles responded in the bottom of the third as Cooley's double to left field drove in freshman Danielle Thomas.
- Boston College would even things up in the very next inning as Cortez drilled one over the fence in left field.
- The Tar Heels would plate the go ahead runs in the top of the fifth. Aquilla Mateen stole home during a double steal while Taylor Wike plated on a wild pitch.
- The Eagles would get one back in the bottom half of the inning as a Cortez single brought home Cooley.
