HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles got things going in the top of the first, scoring two runs to take the early lead. Sophomore Annie Murphy opened the scoring, coming home from third on a wild pitch. Later, with the bases loaded, freshman Allyson Moore drew a walk that plated Cortez.
- Boston College tacked on to its lead in the top of the fourth, adding 5 runs in the inning. Daulton started things off, singling to right field to bring home freshman Loren DiEmmanuele. Cortez followed that up with a single of her own that scored freshman Danielle Thomas. Sharabba only added to the damage, knocking a single through the left side to plate Daulton. Murphy would bring home the fourth run of the inning, beating out the throw to home on a groundball from senior Megan Cooley. Two batters later, junior Taylor Coroneos flied out to center field, allowing Sharabba to cross the plate to make it 7-0.
- The Eagles added another run in the top of the fifth, as Cortez brought home Murphy from second with a single to right field with two outs.
