Olivia Adragna and Renee Bichette named to All-ACC Academic Team
GREENSBORO, N.C. -Â
Boston College senior Olivia Adragna has been selected as the 2015-16 ACC Women's Fencing Scholar-Athlete of the Year as announced today by the ACC office.
Â
A senior film studies major from Malverne, New York, Adragna was named ACC Épée Fencer of the Year. At the ACC Championship, she earned All-ACC honors with a second place finish in the individual competition and was voted as the Championship Most Valuable Fencer.
Â
Adragna is joined on the All-ACC Academic Fencing team by teammate Renee Bichette. The Eagles junior became the first BC fencer in program history to crack the top eight at the NCAA Fencing Championships. A native from Orlando, Florida, Bichette, placed seventh and was named an All-American with her results.
Â
The ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards were established in September 2007 to be awarded annually to the top junior or senior student-athlete in their respective sports.
