BC HIGHLIGHTS
- Sophomore Jessica Dreswick hurled a no-hitter in Game one, striking out six while allowing five walks. It was the first-ever no-hitter in ACC play in program history.
- Sophomore Allyson Frei threw 6.2 relief innings of no-hit ball in Game two, striking out 10 and walking five.
- Senior Jessie Daulton went 6-of-8 with a home run, triple, five RBI's and four runs scored. She has recorded a hit in six consecutive games.
- Junior Tatiana Cortez was 4-of-7 with a home run, three RBI's and two runs scored. It was her team-high 12th home run of the season and she extends her hitting streak to six games.
GAME 1
TURNING POINT
- Boston College pitcher Jessica Dreswick threw a no-hitter.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After four innings of scoreless softball, the Eagles were finally able to break through in the top of the fifth. Daulton got things started, singling to left center, scoring freshman Lexi DiEmmanuele. Cortez would later draw a walk with the bases loaded, plating freshman Danielle Thomas. Sophomore Chloe Sharabba would cap off the inning's scoring knocking a single to left center that brought home Daulton.
- Boston College would add one more in the top of the seventh as Cortez homered to left field to make it 4-0.
GAME 2
TURNING POINT
- Boston College scored three runs in the first inning and never looked back.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles jumped ahead in the top of the first with three runs. Daulton started things off with a home run to left center field. Freshman Allyson Moore and DiEmmanuele scored the other two with singles, bringing home Cortez and Sharabba respectively.
- The Wolfpack answered with two of their own courtesy of home runs from T. Ross and M. Burroughs.
- Boston College added two more in the fourth, as a Daulton triple plated DiEmmanuele. Daulton would later score off a Annie Murphy groundout to make it 5-2.
- The Eagles kept it going in the very next inning, quickly loading the bases. A Daulton single would bring home senior Megan Cooley and DiEmmanuele. Two batters later, Cortez singled to plate freshman Daniele Thomas. Daulton would score later on a wild pitch to cap the scoring at 9-2.
