BC HIGHLIGHTS
- Senior Jessie Daulton was 3-of-5 with a double, a triple, an RBI and a run scored.Â
- Sophomore Annie Murphy was 1-of-5 with an RBI. She extended her hitting streak to six games and has now reached base in eight consecutive games.
- Sophomore Allyson Frei threw 11.0 innings, striking out 14 while conceding seven runs (five earned) on 211 pitches.Â
TURNING POINT
- Connecticut scored three runs in the top of the 11th that would be enough for the win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Huskies struck first in the top of the second as a double from Alyssa Gardea plated Ryne Nakama and Kelli Bates.
- The Eagles got one back when Daulton scored off a groundball from sophomore Annie Murphy.
- Connecticut added one more in the top of the fourth, as Lexi Gifford drew a walk with the bases loaded, scoring Nakama.
- Boston College got within one when a sacrifice fly from senior Megan Cooley brought home Murphy from third base.
- The Eagles evened things up in the bottom of the seventh when a triple from Daulton plated junior Jordan Weed.
- The Huskies got the go-ahead run in the top of the 10th when Jacklyn Dubois ripped a single up the middle that scored Gardea.
- Boston College evened it up once again when sophomore Chloe Sharabba scored off an error from the second baseman.
- Connecticut once again went ahead with three runs in the very next inning. A solo home run from Heather Fyfe made it 5-4 while a two-run shot from Gardea extended the lead to 7-4.
