BC HIGHLIGHTS

- The Eagles have now won three straight and 10 of their last 11.
TURNING POINT
- Boston College scored four in the top of the third to take the lead and never looked back.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Yellow Jackets got things going in the bottom of the first, quickly putting runners on second and third. Courtney Ziese cashed in one of those runners, hitting a sacrifice fly that plated Samantha Pierannuzi. Jessica Kowalewicz later singled up the middle, bringing home Draven Sonnon.Â
- The Eagles responded in the top of the third, scoring four runs. Senior Jessie Dalton reached on a throwing error with runners on second and third, allowing senior Megan Cooley to make her way home. Another error led to freshman Danielle Thomas scoring from third. Sophomore Jordan Chimento would later plate Dalton with a sacrifice fly while Cortez would double home the fourth run of the inning.
- Georgia Tech would get one back in the fourth as Kelsey Chisholm singled to right field to cut the deficit to 4-3.
- Boston College increased the lead back to two in the sixth when junior Taylor Coroneos singled up the middle, bringing home sophomore Annie Murphy.
- The Eagles would add three more in the top of the seventh for insurance, increasing their lead to 8-3. A Cortez triple would score Chimento. Murphy followed that up with a double to left field, plating Cortez. Freshman Carly Severini would cap the scoring, bringing Murphy around to score with a single of her own.
- The Yellow Jackets would threaten in the bottom of the seventh, quickly loading the bases. However, the team would only manage one run off an error.
