KEY PLAYS
- The Eagles got on the board in the fourth, scoring two runs and added three in the fifth and two more in the sixth.
- King and Skogsbergh dominated in the mound to keep the Wolfpack off the board for the Eagles' third shutout of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles broke the scoreless tie in the fourth by plating two runs to take an early lead. Strem reached on an error and sophomore Donovan Casey followed with a single to left to put two on. Sciortino lined one right back at State pitcher Joe O'Donnell, which bounced off his hip into the outfield, allowing Strem to score the first run of the game. Sophomore Mitch Bigras laced one up the middle but shortstop Joe Dunand made a diving stop and started the 643 double play, which allowed Casey to cross the plate, giving BC a 2-0 lead.
- BC plated three more in the fifth to take a 5-0 lead. The Eagles loaded the bases on two Wolfpack fielding errors and a bunt single by senior Gabriel Hernandez. Cronin plated the first run of the inning with a single to center and Strem plated the next with a grounder to short that the Pack could not turn into a double play. Casey finished off the inning with a bunt single down the third-base line to drive in sophomore Jake Palomaki.
- The Eagles added two more in the sixth to take a seven-run lead. Freshman Gian Martellini led off with a single up the middle and with two down, Palomaki drew a walk. Cronin tripled to right center to clear the bases and give BC the 7-0 lead.
