Eagles Ranked Ninth in IWLCA Preseason Coaches' Poll

GRAND LAKE, Colo. - Boston College was ranked ninth in the 2016 Division I Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Preseason Coaches' Poll, which was released by the association on Monday.

The Eagles, who finished 15-4 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament last season, are one of five teams from the ACC listed in the top-10 of the coaches' poll to begin the 2016 season. They received 242 points in the voting completed by the coaches. North Carolina (2), Syracuse (3), Duke (4) and Virginia (10) also join the ranks in the top-10 while Notre Dame (11) and Louisville (15) were also included in the Top-20 poll.

The defending national champions, Maryland, were atop the poll, having received the maximum 400 points, including all twenty first place votes.

Boston College will begin their season on February 14 at Boston University.
