BC HIGHLIGHTS
- The Boston College women's track and field team opened its indoor season on Saturday, taking to Boston University's Track and Tennis Center for the BU Season Opener. The Eagles had a slew of impressive performances on the first day of competition.
- Freshman Julia Lyons made her collegiate debut for the Eagles on Saturday, racing in the 200m. The rookie took second in her heat with her time of 25.75, which was also good for seventh overall at the meet. Lyons also gave the long jump a go, leaping 5.32m (17'5.5") which placed her fourth overall.
- The duo of freshman Monica Heil and junior Robin Gross went 1-2 in their heat and in the meet in the 400m. The rookie Heil was the victor in 57.20, while her teammate Gross crossed the line less than one second later in 57.99.
- In the 500m race, sophomore Molly McCabe was just a half second shy of a first-place finish, taking second place in 1:15.61. Junior Julia Barron fell within the top five with her time of 1:16.86, while senior Christina Kyritsis came in at sixth place in 1:18.03.
- In the distance events, the Eagles had three first-place finishers: junior Julia Gregory in the 800m (2:13.75), senior Claudia DiSomma in the mile (5:03.44) and sophomore Paige Duca in the 3000m (9:28.38).
- Freshman Naomi Cartier also had an impressive performance in her first meet as an Eagle. Participating in the 1000m, Cartier posted a time of 3:00.21, landing her in third place overall.
- Four other Eagles joined Duca in the top seven performances on the day in the 3000m. Freshman Anna Flynn debuted with a second place finish, crossing the line in 9:58.23. Senior Amanda Rickert (10:05.04), senior Catherine Maloy (10:07.05), and sophomore Sarah Marvin (10:12.68) finished in fourth, fifth, and seventh places, respectively.
- In the field events, sophomore Elizabeth Knoll participated in the high jump, clearing the bar at 1.70m (5'7"), which was good for fourth place overall.
- BC closed out the meet in the 4x400m relay, running four different teams on the afternoon. The Eagles' A Team of Heil, Gross, DiSomma, and McCabe were first-place finishers with their time of 3:50.49.Â

The Eagles will next race on the weekend of Jan. 13, where they will participate in the Beantown Challenge at Harvard.
