BC HIGHLIGHTS
- Boston College had a season-high 22 assists on 28 field goals while shooting 47.5 percent from the floor.
- Five players had five or more rebounds in the win. The Eagles won the battle of the boards, 47-24.
- Sophomore center Mariella Fasoula led the team with 14 points and six boards, while senior Kelly Hughes had 10 points, two assists and two steals.
- Senior Emilee Daley pitched in with 11 points, five rebounds and two assists o. She was 3-for-5 from the three-point arc.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles took a 16-13 lead after one quarter on the inside game of Emma Guy and Mariella Fasoula. Guy went 2-for-3 for four points and grabbed three boards while Fasoula was 3-for-6 with three rebounds.
- BC opened up the second quarter with a 7-0 run capped by a three-pointer by Kelly Hughes to push the Eagles lead to 23-13. CCSU broke into the scoring column at 5:32 on two free throws by Andi Lydon and BC's led was eight points. The Eagles put together a 5-0 run to end the quarter and take a 31-17 lead at the half.
- Two three-pointers from Kelly Hughes in the first five minutes sparked a 13-4 run to open the third quarter. BC took a 44-21 lead as the Eagles hit 5-for-9 from the floor and held CCSU to 1-6 from the field.
- The Eagles lead grew to 55-25 after three quarters as the Eagles height took over the game. The Eagles had a 35-14 rebounding edge and scored 26 points in the paint going into the final quarter.
- BC opened the last quarter without a hoop in the first three minutes and CCSU cut into the lead. The fourth quarter saw freshman Shannon Ryan score her first collegiate point while fellow rookie Jasmine Taylor had four points and four boards.
