Winning Weekend for Eagles

The men’s and women’s swim and dive teams competed against Keene State and Maine, both coming out with victories.
The Boston College women's swim team placed first in a dual meet with Keene, 188-96. The men defeated Keene, 188-88, and Maine, 195-94.5 this weekend at Chestnut Hill.

- The women took first through fifth in the 400 yd. IM with the first three finishers under 4:50. Emily Mann took first (4:44.74) followed by Kristina Fecarotta in second (4:48.15), Abigail Kordell  in third (4:49.55), Maria Russo in fourth (4:54.11) and Megan Fuqua in fifth (4:58.16).Â
- Taylor Cortens took three seconds off of his career dual meet best time in the 400 yd. IM, clocking in at 4:02.56 and taking first place.Â
- Erika Freeman, Madeline Simone and Amanda Bieler took first, second and third in the 200 yd. freestyle, clocking in at 1:56.71, 2:02.81 and 2:03.14.Â
- The women swept the 50 yd. freestyle with Julie Dobson in first (24.80), Lauren Quinn in second (25.00), Victoria Lin in third (25.49), Rachel Emodi in fourth (25.67), Elizabeth Canning in fifth (25.76) and Claudia Brady in sixth (26.10).Â
- Co-captains Conor Chamness and Josh Williams tied for first in the 100 yd. backstroke with a time of 52.11.Â
- The men swept in the 100 yd. freestyle with Colin Derdeyn in first (47.97), McKenzie Cole in second (48.58), Cole Vanderwel in third (49.22), Kieran Fitzpatrick in fourth (49.26) and Michael Hinton in fifth (49.45).Â
- Daniel Creighton, Connor Futch and Kyle Zariello took first, second and third in the 200 yd. backstroke, each turning in best dual meet times of 1:57.04, 1:58.77 and 2:00.81.Â
- Madeline Mailliard took first in the 200 yd. backstroke (2:13.46) followed by Hope Dragelin in second (2:14.13), Mary Fizsimmons in third (2:14.66), Katherine Karle in fourth (2:15.83), Kelsey Holmes in fifth (2:16.56) and Elizabeth Canning  in sixth (2:16.89).Â
Next Up
The Eagles compete next at the Terrier Invitational hosted by Boston University. The meet will start on Friday November 18th and run through Sunday November 20th.
