BC HEADS TO PITTSBURGH SATURDAY
• Boston College will travel to Pittsburgh on Saturday for a 2 p.m. game against the Panthers at the Petersen Events Center.
• The game will be televised by RSN/NESN and can be heard on the radio on WEEI 850 AM and bceagles.com.
• Boston College has lost its first three ACC games, most recently at Syracuse on Wednesday night, 62-40.
• Pitt had a 10-game winning streak snapped at Louisville on Thursday night as it lost, 59-41.
• The Panthers have won the last nine meetings between the two teams, including a pair of victories last season.
• Pitt is 11-1 at home this season while BC is 0-2 on the road.
EAGLES LOSE AT SYRACUSE
• Graduate student Eli Carter led Boston College with 13 points as the Eagles lost at Syracuse Wednesday night, 62-40.
• Junior Garland Owens had a career-high seven rebounds to go along with six points.
• Freshman Jerome Robinson had a game-high five assists.
• Sophomore Darryl Hicks earned his first career start in his 11th collegiate appearance.
• Boston College led early, 11-9, but Syracuse scored 14 unanswered points over six minutes to take a 23-11 lead with 4:15 left in the half.
• The Orange finished the first half on a 21-4 run to take a 30-15 lead at the break.
• BC started the second half on a 13-5 run to cut the deficit to 35-28, forcing Syracuse to take a timeout. Carter had five of the points in the run and capped it with a 3-pointer.
• Syracuse responded with an 18-3 run to maintain control of the game at 53-31 with 6:54 left.
LAST TIME AT PITTSBURGH
• Olivier Hanlan scored a season-high 39 points as Boston College lost at Pittsburgh, 71-65, on February 24, 2015.
• It was Hanlan's fourth 30-point game in the last six outings. He was 10-for-20 from the floor and a perfect 14-for-14 from the foul line.
• Aaron Brown added 20 points, five assists and four rebounds.
• Pittsburgh scored 11 unanswered points early in the first to build a 22-12 lead.
• Another seven unanswered points gave the Panthers a 33-18 lead with 3:40 remaining in the half.
• Boston College closed out the half by scoring the final 10 points to cut its deficit to 35-30. Hanlan had five of the points and hit a contested 3-pointer at the buzzer.
• The teams traded buckets for a majority of the second half, but then Pitt went on a quick 9-4 run to open up a 66-58 lead with 2:34 to go in the game.
PITTSBURGH COMES BACK TO WIN IN CONTE
• Olivier Hanlan recorded game highs with 18 points and eight rebounds as Boston College lost in overtime to Pittsburgh, 61-60, on January 6, 2015 at Conte Forum.
• Hanlan also added six assists. Fourteen of his points came after halftime.
• Aaron Brown added 11 points and three assists.
• Garland Owens scored a season-high nine points, all in the first half.
• Boston College opened the game with an 11-4 run over the first four minutes. Brown scored five of those points.
• Pittsburgh then went on an 18-7 run that lasted nearly 13 minutes to take a 22-18 lead.
• The Eagles responded by closing out the half with nine unanswered points to gain a 27-22 lead. Owens was the spark, scoring seven of the points in the final 2:56.
• Pittsburgh made a 10-2 run early in the second half to close its deficit to 33-32 with 11:25 left.
• BC held a 42-38 lead and then went on a quick 7-2 run to make it a 49-40 advantage with 3:54 remaining.
• With the BC lead at 53-43, the Panthers scored the final 10 points in regulation to force overtime. BC had a pair of chances to win on the final possession but could not connect.
• Five-straight points in overtime gave Boston College a 60-55 lead with 2:46 on the clock. Patrick Heckmann hit a 3-pointer in that span.
• Pitt cut the lead to 60-59 and then forced a BC turnover with 11 seconds left. Josh Newkirk drove the lane on the next possession and hit a layup for the game-winner.
