Baseball's Shaw Discusses Midseason Injury, BC
April 23, 2015 | Baseball
Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Boston College junior outfielder Chris Shaw was on a roll when he had to leave the game against Clemson on April 10. He later found out that he suffered a broken hamate bone, costing him three to six weeks of the season. At the time, the left-handed power hitter tied for the Atlantic Coast Conference lead with 11 home runs, was second with a .696 slugging percentage and ranked fourth with 41 RBIs. He was on a 15-game hit streak that included 28 hits, including seven doubles and seven home runs, 15 runs, 22 RBIs and eight walks.
After having surgery to repair his hand injury, Shaw sat down to talk about the interruption in the season, as well as his experiences at Boston College, with his teammates and what his mentor Pete Frates '07 has meant to him.
