Baseball's Shaw Named ACC Player of the Week

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Boston College junior Chris Shaw was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday. It was the second honor for the outfield in his career, as he earned the accolade once as a sophomore.
Shaw led the Eagles to a perfect 5-0 week, including a weekend sweep of Duke. In two midweek games at Northeastern and against Holy Cross, the Lexington, Mass., native was 5-for-9 with seven RBIs and four extra-base hits. Against the Blue Devils, he scored in all three games, drove in four runs, and hit his first career walk-off home run on Saturday. For the week, Shaw led the Eagles with 11 RBIs, nine hits, and a 1.000 slugging percentage in the five games. He drove in the game-winning run in three of the five wins.
For the season, Shaw is tied for fourth in the league with seven home runs and is fourth with 31 RBIs. In the last six games, he has tallied 11 RBIs, 11 hits, including three doubles and three home runs, and eight runs. He has 10 multiple-RBI games this season.
Virginia Tech's Sean Keselica have was voted as ACC Pitcher of the Week.
The Eagles take on Connecticut and Massachusetts on Tuesday and Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Northborough, Mass., at New England Baseball Complex before traveling to Winston-Salem, N.C., to take on Wake Forest.
