- Graduate student Dimitri Batten led Boston College with 18 points, going 7-for-9 from the floor and 4-for-5 from beyond the arc. His 18 points matched a season high.
- Junior Olivier Hanlan finished with 15 points and six rebounds.
- Junior Dennis Clifford recorded 10 points and nine boards while graduate student Aaron Brown added 13 points.

Boston College closed out the first half on a 24-9 run to build a 41-28 lead.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first half was a series of runs and Boston College made the first one. Virginia Tech led, 10-6, but 11 unanswered BC points over 3:56 gave it a 17-10 lead.
- The Hokies responded with nine unanswered of their own to regain a 19-17 lead with 8:40 left in the half.
- Eleven-straight Eagle points from there fueled a 24-9 run to close out the half which gave BC a 41-28 lead at the break. Batten had eight of those points.
- BC continued the run in the second half and started it with an 11-2 run to build a 52-30 lead.
- The Hokies responded with a 16-2 run to cut the BC lead to 54-46 with 8:18 left. Batten scored the next five points to stop the run.
- Virginia Tech got as close as 60-54 but the Eagles pulled away in the end.
