Jackopsic, Stanwick Named Eagles of the Week

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Seniors John Jackopsic (men's golf) and Covie Stanwick (lacrosse) have been named Eagles of the Week for their performances last week.
Jackopsic won the Colleton River Collegiate tournament last weekend as he went -2 over three rounds. He opened the tournament in 14th place after shooting a 73 on the first day and then had a tournament-low 68 (six birdies, 10 pars) in the second round. In the final day of competition, Jackopsic shot a one-over 73 to complete the tournament. His two-under par 214 was two strokes better than his previous best this season.
Stanwick scored eight goals and added two assists in a pair of wins last week. She tallied six goals in the 16-15 overtime win against No. 12 Louisville, including the game-winner with just six seconds left in the extra period. She then added two goals and an assist in a 13-5 win over Connecticut. Stanwick also became the all-time leading goal scorer at Boston College with 173 goals.
Men's golf is back in action this weekend at the Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate tournament in Virginia. No. 3 women's lacrosse (8-0, 3-0 ACC) will play at No. 2 North Carolina on Saturday night.
