Women's Epee Squad Shines at NCAA Northeast Regional

Members of the Boston College Fencing team travelled to New York City to compete at the 2015 NCAA Northeast Regional Championship, hosted by New York University.
The women's epee squad had a standout performance. All three women's epeeists (Olivia Adragna, Renee Bichette, and Cara Hall) advanced to the final round of competition. Junior Olivia Adragna finished sixth in a field of 58 competitors, while sophomore Renee Bichette placed eighth. Senior Cara Hall finished the competition in 11th place.
In women's foil, junior Linda Zhang also had a great performance, advancing to the third round to finish in 21st place. Fellow junior Grace Lisius fell in the second round to finish in 28th place, while freshman Amanda Lewis came in 29th. Senior Marney Krupat and sophomore Jackie Bai both advanced to the second round of the women's saber competition to finish in 22nd and 26th place, respectively. Monika Dworakowski placed 41st, and Carolyn Townsend finished 43rd in the women's saber.
On the men's side, freshmen Ethan Grab and Mooney MacGregor advanced to the final round of the men's epee. Grabplaced 20th, followed by MacGregor in 21st place. Elliot Tasker finished in 36th place. JuniorHanmin Lee lead the men's foil with an 18th place finish, whileclassmate Peter Wetzel placed 26th. In the men's saber, freshman Eliot Kim finished in 18th place, and fellow freshmen Liam Cotter and Mark Zawadiwsky finished in 26th and 30th, respectively.
