BC TRAVELS TO #15/18 PROVIDENCE
• Boston College heads down I-95 to take on #15/18 Providence on Wednesday night at the Dunkin' Donuts Center at 7 p.m.
• The game will be televised on Fox Sports 1 and can be heard on the radio on WEEI 850 AM and bceagles.com.
• Boston College started the season 3-0 for the first time since 2008, but has dropped each of its last five outings.
• Providence holds a 59-50 advantage in the all-time series, but Boston College won last season in Conte Forum, 69-60.
• The Friars have started the season 8-1 with the lone loss coming to now #1/1 Michigan State in the final of the Wooden Legacy.
• This matchup is a non-bracketed game of the Wooden Legacy.
UMASS LOWELL NOTES
• Freshman Johncarlos Reyes recorded a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds in his first career start. • He was 5-for-6 from the floor and had five offensive rebounds.
• He also had a pair of blocks and steals.
• Freshman Jerome Robinson recorded 16 points, six rebounds and five assists.
• Graduate student Eli Carter (ankle) and senior Dennis Clifford (illness) did not play in the game. Robinson was also ill.
• Boston College started five freshmen in the game.
• The Eagles had a season-high 17 turnovers.
LATE RALLY LIFTS UMASS LOWELL
• Freshman Johncarlos Reyes recorded a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds in his first career start as Boston College lost to UMass Lowell, 68-66, on Sunday afternoon at Conte Forum.
• Reyes was 5-for-6 from the floor and had five offensive rebounds.
• He also had a pair of blocks and steals.
• Freshman Jerome Robinson recorded 16 points, six rebounds and five assists.
• Graduate student Eli Carter (ankle) and senior Dennis Clifford (illness) did not play in the game. Robinson was also ill.
• Boston College led, 18-15, and scored seven unanswered points to build a 25-15 lead midway through the first half. Sophomore Darryl Hicks hit a pair of 3-pointers in that stretch, his first career points at BC.
• UMass Lowell responded with a 14-3 run over the next 2:27 to take a 29-28 lead with seven minutes to go. The River Hawks hit four 3-pointers in that run.
• The Eagles closed out the half with a 9-2 run to take a 37-31 halftime lead. Robinson hit a deep three at the buzzer.
• The BC lead reached 43-33 just over three minutes into the second half.
• The River Hawks whittled the lead down to 49-46, but BC responded with seven-straight points to make it a 10-point lead once again with 7:40 left.
• It was a 61-54 BC lead with four minutes to play, but UMass Lowell scored 11-straight points in 44 seconds to take a 65-61 lead with 3:15 left in the game.
• BC made it a one-point game twice with less than 20 seconds left but UMass Lowell held the lead the rest of the way.
LAST TIME vs. PROVIDENCE
• Olivier Hanlan led Boston College with game highs in points (24) and rebounds (8) in a 69-60 win on December 5, 2014 at Conte Forum.
• Hanlan also had a team-best three steals. He was 8-for-12 from the floor.
• Aaron Brown recorded 16 points and seven rebounds.
• The first half was tight the entire way with neither team gaining a lead of more than two possessions. There were 11 ties and seven lead changes in the first 20 minutes.
• The Friars' Carson Desrosiers hit a 3-pointer as time expired to tie the game, 34-34, at the half.
