BC TRAVELS TO #6 SYRACUSE FOR NCAA QUARTERFINALS
• Boston College travels to #6 Syracuse for the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the SU Soccer Stadium.
• The Eagles (11-7-2, 4-4-0 ACC) earned an at-large bid to the field with the help of its No. 15 RPI. They defeated Vermont at home in the first round and #15 USF in Tampa in the second round.
• Last weekend, BC went to #2 Georgetown and the match ended in a 1-1 draw. The Eagles advanced on penalty kicks, 5-4.
• Prior to this season, BC hadn't won in the NCAA Tournament since 2009.
• Syracuse (15-5-3, 3-4-1 ACC) is 5-0-1 in its last six matches. The Orange won the ACC Tournament despite playing on the road the final three rounds.
• Syracuse's last loss came against Boston College in the regular-season finale in Newton.
BC IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT
• The Eagles are making their 13th appearance in the NCAA Championship. Head coach Ed Kelly has led BC to 12 of those tournament appearances, earning bids in 1990, 2000-02, 2004, 2007-12 and 2015.
• Boston College has a 7-10-4 all-time record in NCAA Tournament action. It is 2-2 in penalty kick shootouts.
• The Eagles are looking to make their first ever appearance in the College Cup, which will be held at Sporting Park in Kansas City, Kansas.
• BC reached the quarterfinals of the NCAA Championship in 2002 before losing to Creighton. It also advanced to the third round of the tournament in 2009 before falling to Drake.
DAVOCK, ZEUGNER NAMED TO TEAMS OF THE WEEK
• Freshman Trevor Davock and sophomore Len Zeugner were both placed on the College Soccer News and TopDrawerSoccer.com national teams of the week for their roles in the match at No. 2 Georgetown.
• Davock scored the BC goal in the 19th minute to put the Eagles on top, 1-0, and the match ended in a 1-1 draw. Boston College, including Davock, connected on each of their penalty kicks to take a 5-4 decision and move on to the next round.
• Zeugner anchored the defense that held one of the nation's top offenses to just three shots on goal. He then converted the final penalty kick, taking an unstoppable shot that hit the underside of the crossbar and went in.
• This is Boston College's second appearance in the round of eight. The other came in 2002.
LAST TIME vs. SYRACUSE
• Freshman Simon Enstrom had a goal and an assist to lead Boston College to a 2-1 win against #12 Syracuse on October 30 at the Newton Campus Field.
• Freshman Trevor Davock scored the game's first goal in the 24th minute.
• The win gave Eagles' head coach Ed Kelly his 300th career victory. He is just the 19th active coach and the third in the ACC with 300 career coaching victories.
• Senior Alex Kapp finished with four saves in his third win of the season.
• Boston College struck first in the 24th minute when senior Dylan Pritchard sent a long ball into the box. Enstrom took a couple of dribbles away from the defense and slid it through to Davock. He one-timed the ball into the far post for a 1-0 BC lead.
• The Eagles went up 2-0 after Syracuse goalkeeper Hendrik Hilpert misplayed a ball about 25 yards out of goal. Davock put the initial pressure on the keeper and the ball deflected to the foot of Enstrom. He took one touch and sent the ball to the far post from 27 yards out.
• Syracuse cut the lead to one goal in the 85th minute. After much pressure, Syracuse's Kama Miller scored from eight yards out off a long ball into the box by Liam Callahan. Miller sent a one-timer into the near post by a diving Kapp.

• Freshman Simon Enstrom has notched a point in all three matches so far in the NCAA Tournament with two goals and an assist.
• He scored in the 71st minute in the 1-0 win against Vermont on November 19 in Newton. He then tallied the golden goal at No. 15 USF in the eighth minute of overtime to advance the Eagles to the third round of the NCAA Tournament.
• Enstrom also assisted on BC's goal at No. 2 Georgetown.
• Freshman Trevor Davock and junior Isaac Normesinu both have a goal and an assist. Davock scored the goal at No. 2 Georgetown and assisted on the game-winner at No. 15 USF. Normesinu scored the first goal at USF and assisted on Davock's goal at Georgetown.
• Junior Zeiko Lewis has a pair of assists and they were on both of Enstrom's game-winning goals.
• Senior Atobra Ampadu and sophomore Len Zeugner have also recorded assists.
• Senior Alex Kapp has started all three games in goal, making eight saves and allowing just two goals.
EAGLES ADVANCE IN PENALTY KICKS AT #2 GEORGETOWN
• Boston College advanced to its second Elite Eight in program history after topping second-ranked Georgetown in penalty kicks last Sunday at Shaw Field.
• Freshman Trevor Davock gave the Eagles a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute, but the Hoyas equalized through Keegan Rosenberry in the 60th. Neither team found the goal in the final 30 minutes of regulation or through two 10-minute overtime periods, so the teams advanced to penalty kicks.
• BC went a perfect 5-for-5 in kicks from the spot, capped by sophomore Len Zeugner's winning attempt in round five. The Hoyas went 4-for-5 with Rosenberry sending his kick high to start the third round.
• In the 19th minute, freshman Simon Enstrom broke down the center channel and played a ball out wide left to junior Isaac Normesinu who gained the end line. The winger sent a low cross in and Davock connected right off the post and backheeled the ball past Hoya goalkeeper TJ Marcinkowski for the 1-0 lead.
• Georgetown equalized off a corner kick in the 60th minute. Keegan Rosenberry got on the end of the Christopher Lema's service and his half-volley from just inside the 18-yard box finds space to beat senior Alex Kapp.
• Georgetown outshot BC 4-1 in the two 10-minute overtime sessions. Defenders Zeugner, Mohammed Moro and Atobra Ampadu all come up big with defensive clearances to keep the Hoyas off the scoreboard and send the game to penalties.
