
BC Hosts NC State and UNC To Close Out Home Stand

Eagles honor their five seniors Sunday
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College volleyball will host a pair of games this weekend at Power Gym as the Eagles begin the final quarter of their 2015 schedule. On Friday evening, BC will host NC State (14-10, 3-9 ACC) before closing out their current home stand against the defending ACC Champion North Carolina Tar Heels (13-8, 10-2 ACC) on Sunday afternoon. Sunday's game will also be senior day, where the team will celebrate the accomplishments of the team's five seniors. A special pre-game ceremony will take place to honor Mallori Moffat, Franny Hock, Kam McLain, Katty Workman and Sarah Mendes.

GAME NOTES
With only six games remaining, Boston College will hit the road for the next four with games against Wake Forest (Nov. 13), Duke (Nov. 15), Pittsburgh (Nov. 20) and Virginia Tech (Nov. 22). The Eagles will play their final two games at Power Gym on Wednesday, Nov. 25 vs. Louisville before the season finale vs. Notre Dame on Nov. 27.

- Since joining the ACC for the 2005 season, Boston College has faced NC State 17 times, winning eight games (.471). BC has lost the last seven games between the two squads.
- In their only matchup last season, the Maroon and Gold fell 3-1. In that game, then junior Katty Workman tallied 12 kills while freshman Sol Calvete recorded 18 digs on defense.
- As a team, NC State's Morgan Cormier and Blayke Hranicka are fourth and fifth in the conference for average aces per set (.39 and .31/set) while Maggie Speaks' 10.27 assists per set average is fifth best in conference. Hranicka is also third in conference with her .392 hitting percentage.
- As a team, they are first in service aces (1.68/set) and fourth in blocks (2.62/set).

- Since joining the ACC in 2005, BC has played North Carolina 18 times and is seeking its first win against the 2014 ACC Champions.
- BC lost both games last season to the Tar Heels by a score of 3-0.
- In addition to sitting at third in the ACC standings, UNC is first in blocks (3.20/set), third in opponent hitting percentage (.166) and fifth in both kills (13.55/set) and digs (15.35).
- Individually, Victoria McPherson and Paige Neuenfeldt are first and third in blocks (1.46/set and 1.41/set) while McPherson is fifth in hitting percentage (.361) and Tatiana Durr is sixth in the ACC, averaging 0.31 service aces per set.
- In the latest AVCA polls, UNC received 88 votes and is currently 26th in the country in the respective poll.
GAME NOTES
- With her 24-kill performance Sunday, Katty Workman now leads the ACC with 4.09 kills per set. Workman is currently 11th in Division I for active career kills wtih 1,585 kills. She is only 14 behind the 10th place spot on the active career kills leaderboard, held by Tressa Lyman of Idaho State.
- Brittany Pavich currently is sixth with her .361 hitting percentage (Min. 3.0 TA/Set)
- Mallori Moffat is 10th in the ACC, averaging 8.14 assists per set
- The ACC currently has two teams in the AVCA Top -25 with Florida State (17) and Louisville (T-22). UNC received 88 votes (26th overall) and Pitt received three votes (34th overall) to round out ACC schools in the poll.
- Boston College is currently ranked 138 of 334 in RPI, which measures a team's wins and loss in addition to their strength of schedule. The ACC currently has six teams ranked in the top-50 of the RPI. Florida State comes in at 16, Louisville at 21, North Carolina at 28, Pitt at 39, Miami at 40, and VIrginia at 43.
- Five Seniors: Mallori Moffat, Franny Hock, Kam McLain, Katty Workman and Sarah Mendes will all be honored before Sunday's Senior Day as the team celebrates their accomplishments as BC student-athletes.
- Sophomore outside hitter Sol Calvete leads the Eagles with nine double-doubles in 2015 while senior outside hitter Katty Workman has tallied six double-doubles.
