Carter, Hottenrott Named Eagles of the Week

Pair honored for performances last week
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Graduate student guard Eli Carter (men's basketball) and senior Laura Hottenrott (cross country) have been named Eagles of the Week.
Carter led all scorers with 23 points in Boston College's 75-49 season-opening win against St. Francis Brooklyn on Saturday afternoon. Carter was 10-for-19 from the field and 2-for-4 from beyond the arc. He also grabbed seven rebounds and had a steal in 27 minutes. Carter led from the start, scoring six of BC's first 13 points as the Eagles built a 13-0 lead after the opening tip.
Hottenrott finished seventh in a field of 256 runners, crossing the line in 20:48.5, to lead BC to fourth place at this year's NCAA Northeast Regional, trailing Brown by only four points. The Eagles finished with 143 points. She was named to the All-Region team for finishing in the top 25.
Men's basketball (1-0) hosts Central Connecticut on Thursday night at 6 p.m. and then Harvard on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. Women's cross country is awaiting its NCAA Championship fate.
