BC HIGHLIGHTS
- Freshman Simon Enstrom scored both Boston College goals for his second two-goal game of the season.
- His first goal came in the 34th minute and then his second, the game-winner, came in the 59th.
- Junior Zeiko Lewis recorded an assist on Enstrom's second goal while sophomore Mohammed Moro notched an assist on the first.
- Sophomore Cedric Saladin recorded four saves in the second half.
- Head Coach Ed Kelly recorded his 299th career win. He would become the 19th active head coach and the third in the ACC to reach 300 wins.
TURNING POINT
Enstrom provided a 2-0 cushion in the 59th minute when Lewis fed him beautifully for his second goal of the game.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both sides took just two shots in the first half and both of BC's came on the same sequence. A bad pass on the Virginia back line gave freshman Trevor Davock the ball. He found Moro to the left and he fired a shot on net. It was saved, but the keeper couldn't hold on to the slick ball and Enstrom put it back home for the 1-0 lead in the 34th minute.
- Enstrom tacked on his second of the game in the 59th minute. Lewis handled the ball at the top of the box and flicked a gorgeous pass to Enstrom who finished it for the 2-0 lead.
- Virginia made a strong push in the final 10 minutes, taking six corner kicks and five shots.
- The Cavaliers scored in the 86th minute off a corner as Patrick Foss sent the ball into the box. Wesley Suggs sat at the far post and fed Jean-Christophe Koffi who finished it to cut the deficit to 2-1.
- UVA had large advantages in shots (10-2) and corner kicks (10-0) in the second half.
