Matt Hasselbeck leads the way in Week 5 NFL action
Matt Ryan – QB Atlanta Falcons
Ryan and the Falcons got away from Washington with a win this past week even when not performing at their best. Ryan threw the ball for 24 completions on 42 attempts for 254 yards, no touchdowns and 2 interceptions. The Falcons still escaped with a 25-19 overtime win and will look to stay undefeated on Thursday night against the New Orleans Saints.
Luke Kuechly – LB Carolina Panthers
Kuechly and the Panthers had a bye in week 5. Kuechly has been recovering from an early season concussion, and with the extra week of rest he will be looking to get back on the field for week 6 against the Seattle Seahawks.
Matt Hasselbeck – QB Indianapolis Colts
Hasselbeck started in place of the injured Andrew Luck for the second straight week. He helped lead the Colts to a 27-20 win over the Houston Texans while throwing 18 of 29 for 213 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Colts face the New England Patriots at home this coming Sunday.
Mark Herzlich – LB New York Giants
Herzlich registered 6 tackles, 1 being a tackle for loss, against the San Francisco 49ers this past weekend. 6 tackles are good for second most on the team this past week. He will look to build on this strong performance against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football.
Andre Williams – RB New York Giants
Following a successful week 4, Andre only touched the ball 3 times in the Giants 30-27 win over the San Francisco 49ers. He will look to bounce back on Monday night against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Anthony Castonzo – LT Indianapolis Colts
Castonzo and the Colts offensive line did a good job controlling the line of scrimmage this past week. They held the Texans defense to only two tackles for loss and no sacks. They will look to keep this going this weekend as they take on the New England Patriots.
B.J. Raji – DL Green Bay Packers
Raji and the Packers beat the St. Louis Rams 24-10 this past Sunday. They held the Rams to just 141 passing yards with a 33% completion percentage. Raji and the Packers are 5-0 heading into a week 6 matchup with the San Diego Chargers.
Gosder Cherilus – RT Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Cherilus played in every offensive snap for the Bucs in their 38-31 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars this past Sunday. Cherilus helped the Bucs offense to 180 yards rushing and 180 yards in the air as well. The Bucs have a week 6 bye and will face Washington in week 7.
Kasim Edebali – LB New Orleans Saints
Edebali recorded one tackle in the Saints 39-17 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles this past Sunday. Edebali and the Saints will look to bounce back from the loss in week 6 against the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday Night Football.
Kevin Pierre-Louis – LB Seattle Seahawks
KPL did not see the field this past week in the Seahawks loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. They are now 2-3 and will face Luke Kuechly and the Carolina Panthers this coming Sunday.
