BC HIGHLIGHTS
• Sophomore Kelly Hughes earned her second career double-double - 22 points, 11 rebounds.
• Junior Kat Cooper added 15 points and seven rebounds, while freshman Rachel Gartner added a career-high nine assists.
• Junior Alexa Coulombe was strong off the bench as she had seven points, three steals and two blocks. TURNING POINT Boston College had an 18-3 first half run which was sparked by two three's from Kat Cooper.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Hartford took a 7-2 lead to start the game. The Eagles took the lead back on a Nicole Boudreau three-pointer followed by a layup, BC 10-7.
• BC then went on a 18-3 run to pull ahead behind two three's from Kat Cooper, 28-13, with 8:26 to play.
• The half ended as the two teams exchanged three's, BC 45, Hartford 30.
• Kelly Hughes had 11 points and a team-high seven boards at the half, while Kat Cooper had 11 points on 3-for-3 shooting from the arc.
• To start the second, BC's lead grew to 17 points on a layup by Emilee Daley. Hartford cut the lead to 10 points with 13:17 to play behind three three-pointers.
• The Eagles kept their composure and built the lead back up, 67-49, with seven minutes to play. Hughes hit her fourth three, while freshman Ashley Kelsick hit a three-pointer followed by a drive to give BC the lead.
• Hartford's comeback run came from a jumper and BC turnover which resulted in a three-pointer. BC was up 10 points with three minutes to play. • Kat Cooper hit a fast-break layup at 2:48. It was the Eagles first field goal since the 7:17 mark. BC 71, Hartford 60
• The final minutes of the game were turnovers and foul shots by both teams. Hughes ended the game on two foul shots with a minute to play.
