Lacrosse Ranked 'Inside Lacrosse' No. 7

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Inside Lacrosse's DI Face-Off Yearbook Rankings place BC at no. 7 heading into the 2015 season. Four ACC opponents, North Carolina, Syracuse, Virginia and Duke are slotted ahead of the Eagles. The maroon and gold had a record-setting season in 2014 before falling to Syracuse, 11-9, in the NCAA Quarterfinals. See the full list here.
Three Eagles were also selected as Inside Lacrosse DI Face-Off All-Americans. Captains Mikaela Rix, Covie Stanwick and Sarah Mannelly each were selected. Rix and Stanwick were named to the First Team, while Mannelly was placed on the Third Team. See the full list here.
Rix, a senior midfielder from Garden City, N.Y., has been a key component of BC's success in the past three seasons. Rix was named a Preseason First Team All-American. She has been named a IWLCA First Team All-American in each of her three seasons in a BC jersey, was a Tewaaraton Award Finalist in 2014, and received First Team All-ACC honors and All-ACC Tournament Team in 2014. Last season, the midfielder led the team with 57 goals and 79 draw controls. She also ranked second on the team with 17 assists on the season. Last spring, the Long Island native earned the Junior Class Outstanding Scholar-Athlete Award.
Stanwick, a senior attack, joins Rix as a Preseason First Team All-American. Stanwick earned second team All-ACC honors last season, was named a Tewaaraton Finalist, captured IWLCA All-Northeast Region First Team honors, as well as IWLCA Second Team All-American accolades. The Baltimore, Md. native was also a Finalist for preseason POY by ILWomen.com. In the Eagles' stellar 2014 season, Stanwick led the team in points (91) and assists (38) and was ranked second on the team with 53 goals on the season.
Mannelly, a first-year captain, was named a Preseason Third Team All-American. Last season, Mannelly was named a Tewaaraton Award Addition and received Third-Team IWLCA All-Northeast Region honors. She scorded a game-high six points on four goals and two assists in a First Round NCAA Tournament win over Bryant (5/9/14) and netted three goals in a Second Round NCAA Tournament win over Loyola (5/11/14).
