ACC Releases Baseball Coaches Preseason Poll

Greensboro, N.C. - The Boston College baseball team was picked to finish sixth in the Atlantic Division and 11th overall in the Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Coaches Preseason poll, released on Friday. NC State was chosen to win the league.
The Wolfpack, which returns 2012 ACC Pitcher and Freshman of the Year Carlos Rodon, tallied 10 first-place votes to finish tops in the preseason poll and first in the Atlantic Division with 69 overall points. North Carolina also earned 69 points and was picked to win the Coastal Division. The Heels earned nine first-place votes. Virginia garnered two first-place votes while Florida State, Clemson and Georgia Tech all got one.
The Eagles earned 17 points from the league coaches. Last season, BC tied for fifth in the ACC with a 10-20 league record, going 22-33 overall. Georgia Tech took the ACC title in 2012. The Eagles open the 2013 season in Elon, N.C., against VCU, Elon and Marist at the Country Inn and Suites Elon Invitational Feb. 15-17.
