Boston College Coach Frank Spaziani has named Mike Poidomani Head Coach for Strength and Conditioning for the BC football program. Poidomani served as Director of Strength and Conditioning at BC from 1996-2002. He replaces Jason Loscalzo, who recently accepted a similar position at Washington State University.
"We are very pleased to welcome Mike Poidomani back to the Boston College football family," Spaziani said. "Boston College has always been known for its tough, strong, hard-nosed brand of football. Mike has a proven track record of success in producing those results."
"Coach Spaz and I talked about accountability, training tough and training smart, and a hard-nosed approach to football," Poidomani said. "My philosophy is to be relentlessly accountable to our physical development. We want to be a highly conditioned team that wins the fourth quarter. I've always believed in creating a culture of working hard and having fun while we're doing it."
Since 2010, Poidomani has served as director of strength and conditioning/owner of MJP Strength and Conditioning, where he has trained more than 350 athletes in football, hockey, baseball and softball. Since leaving BC in 2002, he also served as a sales representative from Life Fitness (a division of the Brunswick Corporation), an equity partner/advisor for GYMCO, and a sales representative for Gym Source, a national company specializing in health and fitness equipment.
Poidomani obtained his Bachelor's Degree in health/fitness from Springfield College in 1991 and a Master's Degree in exercise science from Western Michigan University in 1993.
