ACC Releases Baseball Coaches Preseason Poll

The Boston College baseball team was picked to finish sixth in the Atlantic Division and 12th overall in the Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Coaches Preseason poll, released on Friday. North Carolina was chosen to win the league.
Georgia Tech and Florida State both tallied votes to win the league as the Tar Heels recorded seven votes, the Ramblin’ Wreck four and the Seminoles one. Clemson, which was picked to win the Atlantic Division, recorded the most points overall with 67. The Tigers and the Tar Heels recorded seven first-place votes each.
The Eagles earned 14 points from the league coaches. Last season, BC finished fifth in the ACC with a 7-22 league record, going 17-33 overall. Virginia took the ACC title in 2011. The Eagles open the 2012 season against the Cavaliers in Conway, S.C., on Feb. 17 at Coastal Carolina’s Charles Watson Stadium/Vrooman Field.
