Chestnut Hill, MA- The waiting is over, the Boston College women's lacrosse team is NCAA bound. The Eagles received one of the eight at-large bids to the NCAA tournament. Boston College will travel to No. 2 Northwestern (17-2). This is the first NCAA appearance for the Eagles (12-6) in the lacrosse program's history.
The 16-member tournament is made up of eight automatic qualifiers and eight at large bids. The main criteria taken into consideration in making up the field, (in no particular order) is a team's RPI, head to head competition, winning percentage against common opponents and strength of schedule.
Boston College has an RPI of 15 and a top ten victory over then ranked No. 8 Virginia. The 12-wins ties last year's team for most wins in the program.
The Eagles will face Northwestern Saturday, May 14 at 4:00 p.m. in Evanston, Ill.
