CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College baseball team's game against Central Connecticut State was tied 1-1 in the top of the fifth inning before heavy rains forced a postponement.
The game will be rescheduled for a later date.
CCSU scored in the top of the first on a Dylan DelaCruz single and then BC tied it in the third when freshman Nate LaPointe pulled the first pitch of the inning out of the park in left.
Junior Andrew Lawrence had the other BC hit with a double. Redshirt freshman Matt Alvarez worked 2.0 scoreless innings on the mound.
Jake Matuszak had a pair of hits for the Blue Devils and led off the top of the fifth with a double down the left field line before a heavy downpour forced the umpires to stop the game.
BC now travels to Wake Forest for a three-game ACC series that begins Friday night.
