No. 19 Lacrosse Falls to No. 4 Virginia, 12-6

The Boston College lacrosse team lost to No.4 Virginia 12-6 on Saturday afternoon in Charlottesville, Va.
The Eagles drop to 7-3 on the season while the Cavaliers move to 9-3.
The Cavaliers managed to get on the board first at 27:14 of the first half, but the Eagles would rebound quickly from Virginia's initial attack. Sophomore Brittany Wilton would grab the Eagles' first goal at 24:27 of the half thanks to an assist by senior Lauren Costello. BC would take the lead only minutes later with Costello scoring her 30th goal and 51st point of the season.
Virginia would retake the lead with two goals by Caroline McTiernan to make the score 3-2 in favor of the Cavaliers. Following two more Virginia scores, junior Kristin Igoe would pull the Eagles to within one by notching consecutive goals within 13 seconds of each other to set the score at 5-4. However, Virginia came back to score three goals before the end of the half to send the game into the intermission at 8-4.
The Cavaliers notched two scores to open the half, but Igoe scored two tallies back-to-back once again to set the game at 10-6. The hosts would add two more goals of their own and finish the match with the final score at 12-6.
Junior goalie Sheila Serafino made seven saves in the loss as the Cavaliers outshot the Eagles, 28-13.
Boston College will return home to host Iona on Wednesday, April 7 at 4:00 p.m.
