CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College softball team was swept in an Atlantic Coast Conference doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at Shea Field by the scores of 13-1 and 6-4.
The losses drop Boston College to 14-27 (0-14 ACC) for the season, while the wins improve Virginia to 31-18 (11-5 ACC) on the year.
Senior Renee Ramos moved up the BC record books in several different categories as she went 3-for-5 on the day with two home runs and three RBI.

In game one, BC starter Nicole D'Argento (4-10) struggled with her control early, and Virginia took advantage. D'Argento walked three of the first four batters she faced in the game, and with the bases loaded threw a wild pitch to give Virginia their first run of the game.
The Cavaliers would score two more runs in the inning knocking D'Argento out of the game after only one inning.
Virginia would go on to hit five home runs in the next four innings to blow the game open.
Boston College scored its only run of the game in the bottom of the third inning on an RBI groundout by Amy Tunstall.

Gage pitched four innings allowing six runs (five earned) on six hits while striking out three.
Home runs by Ramos in the third and fifth innings kept the Eagles in the game but they couldn't mount a comeback falling by the score of 6-4.
