The Boston College women's track team started its 2010 outdoor season off on the right foot this weekend as it competed in the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif.
The Eagles had many great performances for the weekend but two athletes really stepped up to lead the team.
Senior Caitlin Bailey and junior Caroline King each had two top-10 finishes in the 800m and the 1500m.
Bailey finished fourth in her heat in the 800m with a time of 2:07.13, and she crossed the line in sixth place in the 1500m run at 4:25.83.
King came in sixth in her heat in the 800m crossing the line at 2:07.49, but finished in second place in the 1500m with a time of 4:21.65. The 4:21.65 is the second fastest outdoor time for the 1500m in school history.
Kelsey Huckins led the way for the Eagles in the field events as she came in fourth in the shot put with a toss of 12.95m.
Boston College will be back in action on Saturday, April 10 at the UMass Invitational in Amherst, Mass.
