Women's Track Comes In Third Place At UMass Invitational

The Boston College women's track team came in third place at the UMass Invitational on Saturday afternoon in Amherst, Mass.
Host school UMass won the meet with 167.50 points. Albany came in second place with 153 points, and BC finished with 120 points coming in third place.
Sophomores Kelsey Huckins and Georgette Asfoura led the way for the Eagles field athletes as they both took home a first place finish.
Huckins won the discus throw with a toss of 48.29m. That toss set a new Boston College record women's outdoor track record for the discus throw.
Asfoura won the high jump with a leap of 1.60m.
Another sophomore recorded a first place finish of her own as Heather Garcia won the 1500m run with a time of 4:41.16.
Wrapping up the strong sophomore performances was Anna Cioffredi who took second place in the 800m run with a time of 2:18.38.
Boston College will now get ready for the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships starting on April 15 at Clemson University.
